384. Metaphysics & Plastic Surgery

I’ve spoken quite a bit about your appearance and metaphysics, including how your appearance is an amalgamation of all of your energetic parts, whether that be from this incarnation, or others as well. I find that even the most subtle aspects of our appearance are representative of metaphysical concepts. Some may joke that it’s all biology, but I challenge everyone to ask… why? Why do certain people look a certain way? Are we satisfied that everything is up to chance/ Considering in order for ourselves to exist and function, little to nothing is chance. So why do we assume that these aspects are or aren’t?

One of the most dumbfounding experiences I come across is plastic surgery, but it’s for a few reasons. I want to be lear that I am not a hater of plastic surgery in general. First of all, there are several reasons someone may get plastic surgery, which can have something to do with re-modifying one’s appearance after a problem or illness. I am also aware of the harsh and strict beauty standards which we’ve created and enforced upon ourselves, and what it’s like to live outside of these norms. Whether it has to do with age, or beauty in general.  But one must ask the question… if there’s intention in our appearance, and it represents ourselves, will we fundamentally and metaphysically change as a result of changing our appearance?

While I’m not necessarily talking about weight, from personal experience, I feel like quite a different person after losing even a little bit of weight. Although I have not had any plastic surgery, I can only imagine how different a person must feel with such a dramatic change. Not only personally, but also their new way in the world, as well.

The odd-ness of altering your appearance is what does this mean for your metaphysical self? Are you ultimately altering it? The answer is… yes, kind of. I do feel that there will always be some kind of a resonance of your former self, but you’re really taking on a new or renewed journey looking like a different person. And therefore your energetic body, and potentially your energetic trajectory will be different. I do find it’s a bit sad to consider this, because I truly believe that everyone incarnates with their features which are a beautiful and magical representation of their most refined skills, and the pressure of being like everyone else enforces them to change it. Now, this isn’t to say that you don’t want to “appear” like your best self, and that beauty and self-care shouldn’t be prioritized, but I’m more so considering the “foundation” of who you are, and deep or intense modification of that. As we know, body modification can take on many forms. I do feel that there’s definitely a scale of modification. At the low end is likely adornments, and on the high end, again, is more foundational adjustments.

It does somewhat scare me for the future, because I wonder if we’re losing the most special and unique aspects of ourselves in order to “fit in” like everyone else. Are we truly changing our evolution trajectory? And for what? For an illusion of beauty, which is only relevant for a certain point and place in time. Granted it’s easier said than done, and I am in the world of metaphysics when others aren’t, but I do feel I somewhat see the truth in these situations. We are often times much harder on ourselves than we are on others. And when we are on others, it’s typically a projection for our own selves.

It’s likely that we will go through ebbs and flows of adjusting our appearance, which is perhaps our own way of stretching who we truly are and finding out more about ourselves. In some ways, it’s a natural journey. But keep in mind that this should come from a place of authenticity, and not of subservient views. I would strongly ask yourself what the intention and purpose is for your modification. Is it out of fear? Indifference? Feeling chaotic and wild? Or do you genuinely feel that it’s integral for your life purpose and trajectory here on earth?

Keep in mind that we can’t always see the future quite like we’d like to, so sometimes there’s a non-answer. As hard as it may be to love ourselves and work with ourselves in the now, the outcome of doing so is typically always worth it. After all, you don’t want to have to come back and be “faced” with the same challenges, and have to do it all again, because you’ve proactively avoided it in this lifetime. This isn’t a challenge or a warning, it’s just… truth.
