383. How Can We Achieve True Alignment?
I talk quite a bit about alignment. But what does alignment mean? The trickiness is that alignment perhaps… does not have a definition. On top of that, you can align yourself to anything and everything. You can align to yourself, to others, or even a point and place in time. You can align to a houseplant temporarily, if you’d like. But what is the most valuable type of alignment?
Considering you are the operator of your own self, I would argue that in this particular lifetime, alignment to yourself is most important, or perhaps more intrinsically valuable to you. Secondly, I do feel that alignment to the universe/the rest of the collective is next up. As you are not alone in this lifetime, and you are part of a larger collective, and a universe which will always be part of your journey here, it’s of course very important. I do also want to clarify that alignment to yourself is not just your subconscious self here on earth, but it can also speak to your “higher self” or the other aspects/parts of yourself which are somewhat unknown to your conscious self. I suppose that could be lumped into “subconscious self”, so perhaps it’s a moot point. But just a reminder!
It’s also important to note that everything starts from within. So your journey to aligning to yourself and your own truth will not just radiate outwards, but it will by proxy align you to the rest of the collective. So here’s some steps on how to do that.
Let’s think about the metaphysics of alignment. Say you are a person and you’re looking to travel on a particular path forward. But instead of you being at the head of the path, you’re on another, odd path. Perhaps it’s seemingly leading to nowhere. Depending on where you are, you may be further or closer from this new path that you’d like to get on. So what do you do? Well, once you have come to an acknowledgment and acceptance experience with going onto this new path, there are a couple of things which need to happen. One, you need to proactively walk to the next path. This may seem easy, but chances are, if you want to be on a new path, this could be not just a couple of feet, but a couple of lightyears away from the other one. This entire process could take weeks, months or even years. But say you’re determined to do it, so you do it. What’s next? Well, secondly you need to be prepared mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually for this new path. You could quite literally be none of the above, so there is some energetic preparation which is required in order to move forward. Granted, this is something you don’t need to necessarily have figured out 100%, but depending on what or where the path is, you may have to have a few ducks in a row. Lastly, there’s not just acceptance of moving forward, there’s also acceptance of what’s left behind. You have forged a path you’re abandoning. This may mean leaving a job, friendships, relationships, experiences, a home, maybe even family members. Your entire life can change in an instant. Keep in mind that paths typically don’t mingle with each other. What are you willing to change… or give up? These are more practical pieces of advice, but there are other ways in which you can prepare yourself from departing your current life path.
Releasing your current perception value or values is a great place to start. Consider that if you are living an entirely new life, every single day you’re likely going to need to wake up with a new set of thoughts, a new attitude, and a new way of looking at yourself and the world. It will be important to start to poke holes into any rigidity you currently have with your current belief system. A lot of times we cling onto these beliefs, as they bring us comfort, even if they are negative. But they are ultimately just not serving us and holding us back. If we consider this from more of a meta perspective, the entire world has different perspectives. If we remain so rigid in our own, we may miss what’s going on at another side of the world. Why is this important? Certainly, there are people who are smarter and more qualified than you. Or perhaps with more wisdom going through these experiences.
Lastly, there are some classic/practical ways to start this journey, including affirming and intention setting getting on this new path. Be relatively direct. Ensure that you’re continuing to raise your vibration through self-care, meditation, a positive attitude and a prioritization on your health.
Alignment is not about the universe coming to you, it’s about positioning yourself so you’re in front of the universe, staring at it. And we need to get quite uncomfortable to do that. I do believe that the key is having “acceptance” of all. But that acceptance comes at a price, sometimes. It means that we need to release and let go of whatever we don’t accept in life. I suppose the rest simply comes naturally.
