432. The Importance Of Relaxation

In our culture today, it almost seems like it’s a “flex” to be unrelaxed. We’re in this war with ourselves, as well as others, to see who can be the most productive, and in a way, the most busy, the most disorganized, the most on-the-go. If you’re doing the most, maybe… you are the most? It’s important to know that what you do, does not equate to who you are, or your worth in any way. But through societal conditioning, it certainly sometimes feels that way. Chances are, if you’re too busy to relax, it’s likely that you’ve got some needless things going on in your life. No matter, refinement is always possible.

In a weird way, relaxation almost seems like a luxury. And to be fair, sometimes it is, or at least the quality of it. but you don’t need to go on an overly expensive silent retreat to have relaxation happen. A simple, couple minute meditation at some point in the day will suffice, if that’s all you can “afford”.

I think as a whole, there’s a general misunderstanding about relaxation, because we assume that regardless, we’re going to “work through” what we need to work through during the day. But this couldn’t be further from the case. In our evolved, advanced lifestyles, there’s never really a “call” for a time where we should express our emotions, our feelings, or otherwise. There’s no job title called, “self-reflection”. Our world is simply conducive to us bringing our best self, and our skills. But where do we learn about ourselves, our subconscious, goals, and more? Where do we spend time deducing, instead of just doing? Not relaxing is the way that we maintain unhealthy patterns, continue being in the rat race without any consciousness interjection. To be honest, not relaxing is exactly what a capitalist society wants and/or needs. To ensure that you don’t have time or ability to think… too much.

Which is a great segue into the next point.

When your body is relaxed, it does a couple of things. One, it’s typically more still. That or your muscles or parts of your body have relaxed and are no longer in a state of contraction. Contraction, in general, tends to hold old, negative and stagnant energy. It’s why we tend to get knots in our back, etc. Additionally, your mind is likely out of a loop, meaning that you’re no longer directly or indirectly distracting yourself. It’s the only real time you’re a “clear channel”. I won’t even get into the spiritual benefits such as being able to channel and download information, but I’ll just say that it’s the prime time for your body to release what’s no longer serving you. As you go through the process (in life) of releasing old, negative and/or stagnant energy, it’s so much easier to accomplish when your mind, body and spirit is relaxed. Otherwise, it’s going to be like an exorcism extraction.

The two main points to take away from this is that relaxation is required for good physical and mental health, and required for releasing old, negative or stagnant energy. Additionally, it’s our bridge to consciousness, new ideas and thought. It gets us out of the rat race, and prevents us from being on loop. It’s access to “true” existence, and not a contrived one, made up by businesses and corporations. And for us to remain in that, is certainly not living at all.
