204. Our Obsession With Weight Isn’t Really Physical
So obviously I begin this blog post with a trigger warning. However, i do wish that as a society we can have more honest conversations about weight. I feel that the shame and stigma really only exacerbates… shame and stigma. It seems like practically everyone and anyone has not only had an issue with their weight, whether they feel it’s too much or lack thereof, but it seems like everyone has struggled with body image in some way shape or form.
While I imagine this is a natural process of not just growing up, but aging as well, particularly as our bodies change, it’s not just about weight, either. It’s no surprise that we fixate on our looks as well. The sad truth is that not only are we consistently being compared to what the collective deems as desirable traits, but we ultimately force ourselves to be a version of ourselves we perhaps did not intend to be.
There’s a catch 22 with body modification. Extreme modifications which alter our appearance, such as plastic surgery, can have a desired energetic effect. In other words, they can help release pain and trauma related to said area or aspect of the body. On the other hand, we relinquish our identity and our authentic self. I do believe that we intended to incarnate with the characteristics we were given. So… what’s the answer?
I’m not sure I have one. But I’m hoping that we can all begin to embrace more natural characteristics of ourselves. I think that there’s certainly room for self expression, but I do fear that one day we will have such immediate access to modification, that we may be a race of people we don’t recognize anymore. It will be interesting to see how things develop.
Nevertheless, this blog post is primarily about weight. So what is “weight”? Well, it’s energetic weight, of course. It has some primary functions. One, it’s a “buffer” from our energetic self out into the world. It can be positive, or negative. It’s really just a physical manifestation of our energetic “orbs”. Just like you can store trauma in/around your body, you can also buffer it with energetic debris. I sense that people who have weight on their bodies have a small or large amount of energetic debris. Often times, this is subconsciously intentional. Sometimes, I find, it’s needed. However, it’s somewhat destined to change throughout multiple times of our lives. When we are younger, it’s no surprise that typically we are at our fittest, and say for example, when we’re carrying a child, we need more of this energetic weight in order to protect or shield ourselves in some way shape or form.
It’s important to note that there’s no “bad” or “good”, or “right” or “wrong”. In fact, so long as you are authentically happy and you “feel” good about yourself, really the only thing I would caution people to do is to have extreme fluctuations in weight gain or weight loss. This can create a somewhat dizzying effect energetically.
My suspicion regarding our obsession with thinness and weight is the theoretic consideration that holding onto less “weight” or energetic debris would theoretically signal a “clearer channel”. While I don’t feel I was a worse channeler when I had more weight on me, there was certainly more “stuff” for energy to go through. More parts for it to get trapped. I also suspect this is why it’s easy to put on weight the more you neglect it. Things sort of “stick” to each other, and if you’re not paying close attention to what’s underneath, you may not know or understand the root cause of the weight.
To lose weight, metaphysically, it would be imperative to do processes which let go of old, negative or stagnant energy within the body. This can be done in several ways, such as epsom salt baths, meditation, trauma release/work, as well as yoga and massage to physically release the blockages or energy.
Theoretically, those who need more of a “buffer” to the outside world, particularly those who are sensitive or empathic, may be more prone to weight gain. But it’s completely dependent on the person, and their own abilities and characteristics. Weight may be compensating in this case.
Weight loss, if not intended, may be the opposite. Your body may be too fast processing energy, and it’s not “retaining” as much as you’d like it to. While you can certainly over-inundate it with energy, such as with food, there’s also a level mentally/emotionally as well. Perhaps it’s time to lean into some contraction ideals. This can be more focus on the home, the self, traditions, etc. It also may require more sedentary activities.
It’s not my intention to come off as insensitive or even triggering/rude. When there are so many aspects/elements of our universe, and our physical weight only being a small portion, it’s not a topic which I consider to be such a huge emphasis. It’s also, not personally, a huge emphasis on my life. I hope that we can start talking about weight in a more metaphysical way, and understand/embrace all aspects/parts of it. There is no shame with weight, metaphysically. Only evolutionary states. We should not judge or look down on others due to their weight, as likely, in multiverses, we are struggling with it as well. I hope that more open conversations can help us process any shame related to weight. Despite it being a sensitive topic, shame related to weight is theoretically meaningless. We must understand its intention, it’s value, and how to transmute it, if we so please. The universe says, “you are fine as you are”.
