420. Practical Intuition-Building Outline
Arguably, one thing we can all reasonably align on is the loose concept of intuition. While many are skeptical of the outcomes or ability for some to have more intuition or even productive intuition in comparison to others, we certainly all have a “gut” feeling of some sort when and if something is right or wrong. If we didn’t have any semblance of intuition, we’d hardly be able to operate with one another. This and consciousness is really the only thing separating us from machines. That of course and our ability to feel resonance and emotion.
So what is the definition of intuition? I like to think of intuition as “truth” relative to your perception value. All of our intuitions can vary in several different ways. After all, something which may be good for you, may not be god for someone else, and vice versa. It allows us to “discern” so to speak. Intuition can often times cross barriers. A common example of using our intuition is the interests that we have and the choices that we want to make with our lives. For example, there’s likely nothing which would make me less or more adaptable to be a doctor, lawyer, pilot, etc. besides of course trained skill. As I do truly feel that intelligence, while an important factor and component, can be offset just as much with hands-on experience or perhaps even… intuition. So the question would be, what makes me “feel” that I shouldn’t be any of these professions? Perhaps just a “feeling” that it’s not my duty, calling, or that I’d be any good at it. We discern all the time with things we think we should have, people we should be friends with, and places we should see. We don’t always have a line-list of facts and figures. We tend to go off of previous experiences shaping our perception of the world.
At times, however, we can often times override our intuition with fear. Even if we have a subconscious intuition that we should do or feel something, sometimes our conscious minds prevent this from happening, or avoid it altogether. This could be a defense mechanism to “retain” our current energetic vibration or lifestyle, or perhaps even avoid pain altogether. There can be an infinite number of reasons, even spanning on beyond yourself, as we’re closely tied and connected to others, or other energies in general.
Although I don’t have my facts and figures to support this at the moment, I’ve seen countless pieces of evidence, whether it be firsthand accounts or statistics showing that intuition is not just a valid, but perhaps even integral part of everyday life, business and beyond. The ways and opportunities intuition can help and assist you in this lifetime is totally infinite.
But perhaps I don’t need to convince you, perhaps you’re just here for the practical outline. Which brings me to my next point.
The idea of building intuition sounds somewhat tedious, maybe even difficult or ‘not” for some people. People don’t know where to start, and maybe they’re skeptical of the outcome. While I never guarantee anything, I can “highly” recommend that these exercises, options and opportunities can and will help you along your journey. And even in a hypothetical world if and when they don’t, it’s certainly not time wasted. Anything that you do which is self-reflective, meditative or challenging yourself is all integral for self-growth. While I’m providing in this list, in my opinion, the most effective ways to challenge yourself and build your intuition, I can’t promise they won’t or will necessarily be the “easiest”. But I think most effective is probably better than easiest, right?
Remember to use your own intuition as you read this list. Perhaps not everything is for you. And be patient. I my experience, sometimes things even get worse before they get better. Reason being is that when you start to unearth negative or stagnant energy preventing you from accessing your truth and authentic self, things can be tumultuous. You’ll likely be challenged. And even experience some old pains or wounds to transmute them. All things to keep in mind. Regardless, in my opinion, this process is worth it.
As a whole, a good concept to stick to is considering your energetic body as a “clear channel” The most “stuff” we add onto it, which isn’t necessarily current, positive, or moving us in the right direction, distracts or diverts us from the “point”, or our own truth and intuition. Keep this in mind as a general philosophy.
Additionally, it’s important to keep in mind that these are just initial, and even somewhat basic steps. While I recommend carrying all of these things through your life, they will likely change, shift and evolve. And hopefully, you can challenge yourself even further, and get a big more specific! Keep things open-ended for now, as your path in life may soon change as a result or in tandem with these exercises or activities.
Set the intention and affirm (daily): If you’ve watched any of my videos or read any of my posts, it’s likely that you’ve stumbled across my aggressive doubling down on intention setting and affirming. Why? It’s easy, it takes almost no time at all, it’s specific, and it opens the door for the universe to help you. It’s truly the “needle” which pierces old, negative or stagnant energy. It’s acknowledgment and acceptance of the truth. Every single day, affirm that you are accessing and reaching deeper into your truth and intuition. You may say it however you’d like. Perhaps there are goals you’d like to achieve or accomplish wit it. Feel free to get specific. As time goes on, you’ll likely have the desire or opportunity to modify wording as things change. Affirming and intention setting go somewhat hand in hand. However, affirming is more a daily and/or more than daily activity. Intention setting is more goal planning. So you may want to write down your “intentions” as a whole, and then proactively affirm them often.
Get out of your zone (1-2x per week): At least once a week… travel. And this doesn’t need to be to another country. If you’re only able to take a new walk or route to work or doing errands… this works too. You can certainly start out small. The more you take yourself out of your comfort zone and perception value, the better. But work up to it. Once a week is, in my opinion, the least you should be doing, but feel free to ramp it up to twice a week once you start getting in the groove. Why is this important? You’re getting out of your own head and routine. You’re breaking a pattern. When we’re too into a hamster wheel pattern, we don’t allow time or opportunity for new thoughts to flow in. We’re so distracted by our current objectives. Consider newness as opportunity and freedom. You’ll be challenging yourself, and simultaneously being “open” to new ideas and messages from your subconscious.
Go to where your mind hasn’t gone to before (1-2x per week): Interested in spirituality or fringe topics? Have an interest you’ve never been able to pursue before? Consider that our interests are messages from our intuition that there is valid opportunity here. This is a similar sentiment to above. It really gets your mind going. If you’re tight on time or ability to do this in-person, start researching online! Now with the internet, so many things are free and accessible. Why is this important? It starts challenging your old beliefs, thought-patterns and habits. You may even learn something which is applicable to your own life, or the ability to help others.
Proactive challenges (1x per week): This is a somewhat broad and open category, because it could go a few different ways. Anything that you’re proactively avoiding is a great place to start. Are you totally uninterested in working out? Do you avoid social situations? Are you totally annoyed with cleaning up your place or doing errands? These are specifically the places to start. And if you’ve got all of these things down, start working on and/or conquering your fears. What are some things you think you wouldn’t enjoy doing? That would be uncomfortable? How can you challenge yourself in an intelligent way. Whether it’s a goal you currently have, or a new one, keep pushing. Why is this important? If you’re not consistently growing or developing, you’re stagnating, as the universe continues to grow and expand, and so do your neighbors. You have to keep up to continue to change and adapt. It’s also really the only way to release old, negative and stagnant energy.
Breath-work (daily): Breath-work as well as meditation or meditative practices such as yoga, etc. are “aligners”. Meaning that they mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually align you. This ups your discernment process and brings more mental clarity. If you’ve got a lot of “clutter” whether it’s things or thoughts, this cuts through it. When all of the parts of ourselves are “aligned” we can see through situations much more powerfully. Why is this important/ Clutter diverts or distracts ourselves from our intuition. It also aids in exhaustion and frustration overall.
Journal fundamental beliefs (once, but monthly or annually if needed): How do you feel about yourself and the world around you? Are there negative beliefs you’ve been hiding inside yourself? How do you feel about other people? Whatever is negative or even neutral should be addressed. Not because it’s a problem necessarily, but because it’s the perfect place to start. It just needs some “work” overall. How you see yourself is how you see the world and vice versa. There’s likely thought patterns that need breaking, because this can ultimately keep you repressed and in a loop. Want to get even smarter about it? Use this as a guide for your proactive challenges portion. If you feel that you’re inadequate or unworthy as a person, focus on small wins which you accomplish independently, or even with the help of others. Target overall concepts and themes and work on improving or accepting them.
Belief, faith, hope and optimism (daily): While this certainly wavers as time goes on, the concept/idea of gratitude is simple enough to put you in a higher vibration. Same goes with faith, hope and optimism. Just taking a tiny moment to be centered, present and understand/acknowledge what’s good certainly does have positive effects. When you feel like you can’t tae on the burden of more “intense” activities, this is an excellent go-to. Belief in the future being better shifts/changes our perception value. It opens the door for help from the universe and new opportunities. When times are tough, it can be hard to embody this, but even if you can hold on to a tiny morsel of good, it’s enough to power through.
