428. Successful Relationship Roles
While we as people are incredibly dynamic and certainly fit into more than one box, some of us do truly embody a concept and theme fully. In this sense, sometimes it’s our life “goal” or learning lesson or purpose to fall under a high level concept or theme. I’ve discussed some common concepts and themes for individuals in past articles.
While the approach that we fit into a concept or theme may be controversial, I find that we often times continually work through the same patterns and issues, in just different ways and physical manifestations. Often times if you observe enough, you’ll see it clear as day.
So if we consider and think that a particular person has this “theme” attached to them for most, if not all of their life, it’s no surprise that they will attract people who fit in well with their mission, or perhaps even challenge them to be better. This is where a successful match of “roles” or concepts and themes comes through.
Remember that it’s not always the case that it’s one person embodying an entire theme. You can either not embody any, or both of you can embody both discussed. On top of that, this isn’t to say that other role variations don’t work, it’s simply that these are “highlighted” as channeled successful pairs.
Leaders & Collectors: I think we’re all pretty clear on the definition of a leader. Of course you have someone that is leading the way. Perhaps they drive the passion or motivation for a relationship. Maybe they’re the more planning-oriented one. Perhaps they are the organizer or dealing with the finances. But the most important thing is that in some way shape or form, they are driving the relationship forward and in a particular direction. It could be through their energy or perhaps their wisdom and information. You may think of the obvious physical “collector” such as someone that has a collection of stamps or whatnot. Of course this could definitely be the case, but collectors are typically those who are information, history or intelligence enthusiasts. They are like informational sponges. Point being here is that in the opposite sense, they really take in experiences. Perhaps they are more “homey” and enjoy the value and beauty of people, places and things. Unlike the leader, they are of slower energetic pace, meaning that they like to savor the moment and appreciate anything and everything life has to offer. Often times due to the pacing and tasks of the leader, they on the other hand “miss” the simple things. Which is a good segue into what they offer each other. Collectors encourage the leaders to sit and value the moment, life and their surroundings. And leaders “move” the otherwise complacent or stagnant collectors so that they continue to seek out new experiences and will never get bored. Leaders encourage them to not be in their head so much and take on and accomplish the tasks of physical life.
Protectors & Lovers: Let’s start with lovers, as this is an obvious one. Somewhat like collectors, they truly value consciousness and what life has to offer, but they often times do so in a way which is putting themselves aside. They are great mentors, teachers volunteers, and likely make incredible relationship partners due to their incredibly loving nature. They’re likely very kind, pleasant and a joy to be around. Truly the personality kings and queens. Protectors, while similar to lovers in the fact that they are appreciators, take on somewhat of an opposite role. They put themselves to the front and are the authority. They are incredible appreciate of lovers and what they represent, and they look to retain and sustain this. While lovers tend to give unconditionally, which can have a tendency to drain them, protectors seem to never get drained, as they enforce boundaries and are extremely self-sustaining. They both admire making and keeping life beautiful, but they take opposite roles in how this comes to life. Protectors see lovers as life worth living, and lovers see protectors as ability to live. Protectors may often times fall into more of a traditional or conservative role, but so long as they are stable, grounded and have a strong view/stance on their purpose and mission, they are and certainly can be a great protector. Since this is a somewhat common approach to heterosexual relationship roles, it certainly has its level of attraction, but due to how complex and at times, unsustainable this dynamic is, it can have lots of issues. If protectors and lovers lean into the “bad” or negative energy of themselves and the world, this is a doomsday premonition. But if they can separate themselves and work on their own issues and come to a common goal, this can be a dynamic with a lot of healing power and potential.
Validators & Inquisitors: Inquisitors are incredibly social creatures and have the next experience in their book planned. They love to go out and “be”. They likely either have a strong sense of self, or are working to refine this here in this lifetime. They are naturally curious, and likely, naturally gifted at many things. They may even hold high positions regarding job/career. While intelligence may be a priority for/of an inquisitor, they’re more interested in being in the “mix” of things as a social butterfly. Inquisitors would make naturally great lifestyle content creators, as they’re willing to perform and onto the “next thing”. The world is looking at them to see what they’re up to, or lead the collective into what’s next and new. Trendsetters and starters. But with everyone looking at an inquisitor, they certainly need some… validation. This is where validators come in. Validators are the incredibly strong, almost unbreakable forces in society. They, while of course potentially being intelligent, are more importantly socially intelligent. They may be interested in politics, current events and more. They, like protectors, likely also have a strong view or “vision” of the world or themselves. They may come through as an unshakeable or confident/peaceful spirit, helping to guide others through their disposition and unwavering/great advice. They often times make great friends or partners. They, however, may not like to be in the forefront, or at least personally. Both validators and inquisitors have a love for identity and ego, as well as the vision for themselves and the world. However, inquisitors may be more ego of self, while validators are more perception of the world. They both likely share a love for vision, the future, intellectualization and more, but they van help improve one another. Validators love inquisitors unconditionally, as well as support and admire them, while inquisitors show validators how to be authentically themselves and explain that there’s no fear in “showing up” as you and putting yourself first/at the forefront.
Healers & Educators: While this may seem to be a specific description, it can certainly be a broad categories. Healers can range from doctors to witches, to those who simply change others lives by sharing their stories. They see what’s wrong, and they want to fix it. In a different way than educators, they’re really in the “mix” and sometimes in the trenches. As they are often times very empathetic, similar to lovers, but in a way that’s “excavating” the bad and leaving room, or supporting the good. This is often times exhausting, but simultaneously rewarding. Since healers are typically reasonably self-sufficient, the reason they aren’t with a “supplier” is that it’s likely part of their journey to become more self-sufficient and not “drain” the resources of themselves and others, due to the fact that they are a healer in this lifetime. Educators are very much aligned to the work of the healer, as they want to help improve the lives of others, particularly on a larger scale, however individual vs. the masses can be interchangeable with both of these roles. However, healers tend to treat people on an individual level, and educators tend to lead or direct in a way that’s appropriate for the masses. While healers are below sea level, educators are high above water, similar to leaders. They are paving the way through their wisdom and intellect. Consider them like a community-oriented professor, or appointed “TED Talk”-er. Keep in mind they do not need to be in the education field to fulfill this role. They can also be in leadership roles in companies, students or perhaps even entrepreneurs, etc. While they are different in leaders in the sense that they are more personally minded, they “cultivate” communities for love, support, and others to be their best self. Their initiatives and actions “guide” people as a whole. Educators provide the much needed space and expansion for growth, as well as curiosity regarding new ways of doing things for healers, as well as ideas for execution and efficiency, and healers offer a much-needed nurturing aspect for healers, whom tend to be more “in their mind” and responsibility-oriented. At the end of the day, they are both motivated to cultivate the next generation of people.
